Analytical standards and internal standards play an important role in providing accurate test results. One of the major items developed at ELI is the acid metabolite of THC, which has been available for nearly two decades. Internal standards used for GC/MS analysis in full scan mode were first prepared at ELI, including fluorinated derivatives of several drugs of abuse.

Other internal standards were prepared at the request of members of the drug testing community and are available to laboratories both in bulk and in solution.
